Amazon Adventure in Manu National Park

Manu National Park is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth and a key destination for ecotourism in the Peruvian Amazon. It stretches from the Andes of Cusco to the lowland rainforests of Madre de Dios, protecting more than one and a half million hectares of pristine forests, rivers, and tropical mountains.

Recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site, Manu is home to more than 1,000 bird species, 200 mammals, and hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies. It’s a paradise for birdwatchers and wildlife photographers, where you can spot macaws at the Blanquillo clay licks, giant otters in the Salvador and Otorongo oxbow lakes, and howler monkeys moving through the treetops.

Tours to Manu are generally divided into three main zones:

  • Cultural Zone: access to local communities and transition forests.
  • Reserved Zone: virgin rainforest rich in wildlife.
  • Blanquillo and Cochas: ideal area for birdwatching and Amazon fauna observation.

The experience combines adventure, nature, and living culture, with activities such as guided hikes, boat trips, wildlife observation, visits to clay licks, and cultural exchanges with Matsiguenka native communities.

The dry season (April to October) is the best time to visit, offering stable weather and great visibility for photography and excursions.
